National outreach coverage project: targeting
We commissioned the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) to produce a dataset and interactive maps to support higher education providers, Uni Connect partnerships and other outreach providers to improve how they target their outreach interventions.
The analysis undertaken collaboratively by HEAT and the two other tracking providers, Aimhigher West Midlands and EMWPREP, includes data on:
- Higher education outreach activities delivered at school or further education colleges in England between 2017-18 and 2019-20
- The number, type, contact hours and provider type of the outreach delivered at each school during this period.
The purpose of the dataset is to collate data on all outreach activities delivered in England, thus showing outreach coverage nationally. Outreach providers may use the dataset to support strategic decisions on targeting, for example informing which activities might be most appropriate for working with a school.
Use the new dataset and interactive maps
If you are making strategic decisions about where to target your outreach interventions, the dataset and interactive maps are now available to support your decision making.
