Subcontractual partnership student outcomes dashboard

Dashboard user guide

  • The dashboard also contains a ‘Help guide’ button in the top right. Relevant information included in this guide will also be available via this button.
  • Throughout this guide we have suggested an order to using the buttons and filters, but they can be applied in any order.
  • To see the dashboard in full-screen, scroll to the bottom of the dashboard and click the square icon in the bottom right-hand corner, which on hover-over says ‘See this in full-screen’.

Using the dashboard

The dashboard will open on the 'lead provider to delivery provider' page and will not show any data as no provider will be selected. This is the view of the dashboard where the provider listed is the lead provider, where students are registered.

1. Select a provider

  • Use the 'Select a lead provider' dropdown box in the blue control panel to choose (or search for) a provider's data to display.
  • Only providers which were selected to be part of the pilot will appear in the dropdown list.
  • There is no sector level data presented within this dashboard.

2. Select a measure

  • Use the tabs above the charts to switch between showing either the continuation, completion or progression measure.

3. Select a mode and level of study

  • The dashboard will only show a single mode and level of study at a time. The default is full-time, first degree. To change selection, click the yellow button labelled 'Select a mode and level of study' and select a non-empty cell from the mode-level table that appears.
  • The mode-level table shows the percentage of students in each mode and level of study. Empty or missing cells indicate that there are no students for this selection and cannot be selected.
  • There are separate columns for full-time or part-time students in the mode-level table. If one or more columns are absent, then there are no students for that mode. If one or more columns are present, but there are empty or missing cells within the table, this indicates that there are no students for this mode-level combination.

4. Select a minimum population size (denominator)

  • Use this slider to only show indicators with a denominator greater than or equal to the selected value. This may result in no data being shown.

5. Select a minimum proportion of the uncertainty distribution below numerical threshold

  • Use this slider to only show indicators for which the proportion of the statistical uncertainty distribution that is below the numerical threshold for condition B3 is greater than the selected value. This may result in no data being shown.

6. Choose whether to show indicators or difference from benchmark

  • Use the buttons to select which visualisation to show:
    • Indicator values only: This shows indicator values relative to a numerical threshold. This is shown by default.
    • Difference from benchmark values only.
  • Benchmarked data is not applicable to postgraduate levels of study. The charts will still appear but will contain no data.
