Get the data

The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) data supports institutions to make improvements to students' experiences and outcomes. 

The data is available in a tabular format as CSV files. Excel workbooks will follow shortly. 

We are reviewing how we present this data and the software we use to create dashboards. We will publish the new TEF data dashboard in early 2026, which we expect to develop over time in response to user feedback.

The data is published as official statistics.

Data protection

For data protection purposes, we have applied a comprehensive set of rounding and suppression criteria.

Anyone wishing to use the data must follow the guidelines for appropriate use.

Data quality

There are additional risks to data quality in some areas of the 2022-23 returns, but in general we consider the data is fit for purpose and facilitates robust measures of student outcomes and experiences.
