Addressing Barriers to Student Success programme
About the evaluation
When we fund programmes of activity, we want to know what works so that the learning can be shared across the higher education sector and have a greater impact.
We commissioned Warwick Economics and Development Ltd to evaluate the programme at a national level.
Individual projects evaluated their own activity at a local level, which fed in to the national evaluation.
What did the evaluation assess?
The evaluation assessed how successful the programme had been in:
- supporting collaborations that have scaled up existing approaches to address inequality in student outcomes
- identifying good practice across a range of providers, and clarifying what conditions are needed for things to work.
Evaluation reports
A final evaluation report has been published that looks at the difference that the programme has made in improving student success.
The report also includes lessons learned and recommendations that set out strategic and practical steps that providers can take to promote student success outcomes for all and drive meaningful improvements.
A formative report was published in October 2018 which looked at the first year of the programme.
