Enhancing student mental health through innovation and partnership
This project, led by the University of Birmingham, created an innovative hub of qualified therapists and volunteers with mental health experience who provided brief, therapeutic interventions for students in comfortable, safe spaces.
The project was delivered collaboratively between the University of Birmingham, Forward Thinking Birmingham, The Children's Society, and the NHS Foundation Trust. Funded by the OfS's mental health Challenge Competition, it facilitated clearer clinical pathways and helped to improve the transition for students moving out of in-patient support.
In the video below, the project leads reflect on their experiences and discuss how they embedded the support and how they ensured it was sustainable after the end of the OfS-funded programme.
