Quality and standards assessments for providers applying to register

Follow-up assessments

In some cases, a provider might meet our requirements for quality and standards but the assessment during the registration process may identify risks.

Where this is the case, we may apply a ‘specific ongoing condition of registration’.

The specific condition will ask the provider to meet particular requirements that relate to the areas of concern we have identified.

Where we apply a specific condition, we may require the provider to have a further quality assessment to test that any concerns have been resolved.

We may commission an assessment team that includes independent academic assessors to undertake some or all of this assessment, and the assessment may include a further visit to the provider.

We will charge providers a fee to cover any costs that we reasonably incur when we assess the quality and/or the standards of the higher education they provide.
