Degree apprenticeships: a guide for higher education providers

Our approach to promoting equality of opportunity in the higher education sector encourages providers to consider how they can expand and promote diverse and flexible pathways into higher education.

Access and participation plans

Providers registered with the OfS in the ‘approved (fee cap)’ category and want to charge above the basic cap for tuition fees must have an access and participation plans (APP).

In these plans, we expect providers to consider how they can expand and promote diverse and flexible pathways into higher education.

Growing and building capacity in the area of higher and degree apprenticeships is one way they can do this.

Funding competition

We fund strategic interventions to support the advancement of equality of opportunity.

We are currently running  a £40 million degree apprenticeship funding competition which aims is to increase access for underrepresented groups to degree apprenticeships.
