Our student panel
Our student panel is at the heart of shaping the work we do.
What does the panel do?
To regulate in the interests of students, it is vital for them to influence our work and the decisions we take.
Our student panel has been at the heart of our work since the OfS was established in 2017.
The panel advise our board, help us to understand students’ views and challenge us to develop policy in the interest of all students.
How does it work?
Student panel members attend four meetings a year, where they advise and challenge areas of the OfS's work.
Members of the OfS board are invited to meetings to hear from panel members and discuss issues affecting students.
The chair of the student panel sits on the OfS board to ensure student views are represented.
Throughout the year, panel members can also:
- attend focus groups and feedback sessions with OfS staff on emerging policy work
- take part in reciprocal mentoring with members of the OfS board
- speak on behalf of the panel at events and conferences
- write blog posts for the OfS website
- take part in development opportunities to gain experience in areas of the OfS's work that they are interested in.
