An online event to facilitate discussion on the key areas of support for Black, Asian and minority ethnic students during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This event explored key areas of support needed for Black, Asian and minority ethnic students during the coronavirus pandemic. We used Dr Gurnam Singh’s briefing ‘Supporting BAME students during the COVID-19 crisis’ to stimulate discussion on these areas.
We heard thoughts from two panels. There was an opportunity, after each panel presented, for attendees to submit questions.
Panel one: How the sector can ensure equality during COVID-19 for Black, Asian and minority ethnic students
- Introduction from Amy Norton, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Office for Students (OfS)
- Sarah Howls, Head of Access and Participation (Regulation and Funding), OfS
