The Office for Students (OfS) has launched a consultation on Solent University’s proposal to change its name to Southampton Solent University.
Solent University has stated that the proposed name represents a return to the name it previously held. They have also stated they have undertaken research that suggests reinstating the location of the university into the name is an important factor in both its collaboration with local and national stakeholders and likely success in future recruitment.
The OfS is keen to hear from students and their representatives, universities, colleges and others on the proposed new name.
The deadline to respond to the consultation is 25 April 2024.
