There is substantial coverage of the Office for Students’ response to the latest figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
HESA’s Higher Education Student Statistics for 2021-22 shows a decrease in the proportion of students being awarded first class degrees following successive year-on-year increases since 2011. Chief executive of the OfS, Susan Lapworth, commented on the decrease in top marks awarded.
