Consultation on an approach to world-leading specialist provider funding
We undertook a consultation to seek views on the OfS’s proposals for funding world-leading specialist providers from the 2022-23 academic year (1 August 2022 to 31 July 2023), in the context of our future grant settlement from government. It also covered how we propose to allocate £5 million that remains to be distributed to world-leading specialist providers for the 2021-22 academic year.

The consultation is now closed.
The following workbook shows calculations used in this consultation to determine which providers would meet the proposed definition of 'specialist'. To meet this definition, providers would need to have either:
- at least 75 per cent of full-time equivalent students (FTEs) taught in one subject OR
- at least 90 per cent of FTEs taught in two subjects.
