Consultation on the approach to publication of results of the National Student Survey
This consultation sets out the technical detail of proposals for the approach to publication of the revised National Student Survey from 2023 onwards.
Deadline to respond: 26 May 2023.
We have also published below supporting information to assist stakeholders in understanding the statistical methods we have proposed to use in the presentation and contextualisation of the NSS results.
The NSS is managed by the Office for Students (OfS) on behalf of the regulatory and funding bodies in the UK, which are the OfS, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, and the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland.

- Example: NSS 2023 provider results download
This file would contain all the 2023 NSS provider-level results published on the OfS NSS dashboard. It has the results for every question, split by provider and level, mode and subject of study. - Example: NSS 2023 provider results notes
This file gives a description of the different columns in the provider results download csv file, and a list of the questions in the survey. - Example: NSS 2023 provider portal template (external)
This file would contain the 2023 NSS results given to providers through the provider portal, limited to the results which providers can use externally. - Example: NSS 2023 provider portal template (internal)
This file would contain the 2023 NSS results given to providers through the provider portal, including results which providers can only use internally.
