Evaluation of the statement of expectations: Preventing and addressing harassment and sexual misconduct
June 2022 update
In April 2021 the Office for Students (OfS) published a statement of expectations to provide a clear framework for colleges and universities in preventing and responding to incidents of harassment and sexual misconduct that affect their students. Providers were invited to review and update their systems, policies and processes during the 2021-22 academic year.
The OfS has commissioned SUMS Consulting to evaluate the initial impact of the publication of the statement of expectations. This report provides an overview of progress to date, the broader context for the evaluation, some emerging findings from research with students and their representatives, and next steps in the process.
The final report will be published in autumn 2022.
