Prevent review meetings: 2019 programme findings

Prevent review meetings are an essential part of the OfS's monitoring framework for assessing compliance with the Prevent duty within the English higher education sector.

This report presents findings from the 2019 programme, split by theme, using quantitative and qualitative data.

Annex A (in the main report) gives the background to Prevent monitoring and the introduction of Prevent review meetings. Further annexes present thematic reviews of two key areas: training and welfare.

Annex B: Thematic review of Prevent duty training

This thematic review looks at different training approaches within the sector to determine how effective they are. It also captures examples of effective practice from providers in relation to training.

Annex C: Thematic review of Prevent-related welfare cases

This thematic review explores: approaches taken by providers; their experience managing cases and how they are supported; identifying good practice; whether the numbers of referrals being made are appropriate within the sector.
