In May 2022, as a result of our general monitoring, we opened an investigation into the quality of business and management courses provided by the University of Bedfordshire.

We appointed an assessment team in October 2022 to provide expert advice and judgements about the quality of the university’s business and management courses.

The assessment team did not identify any concerns from its review of information relating to condition B4: Assessment and awards.

The assessment team identified one concern from its review of this information relating to condition B1: Academic experience and two concerns relating to condition B2: Resources, support and student engagement. Following consideration of the quality assessment report, the OfS found that the university had breached condition B2.

We have considered the actions that the university has taken in response to the concerns identified in the quality assessment report, and have worked collaboratively with the provider to ensure that it has a comprehensive set of plans and initiatives that, if implemented effectively, have the capability to address those concerns. The OfS has therefore decided to close this investigation and continue monitoring the provider to ensure that students interests are protected.
