Intentions After Graduation Survey

Studying abroad

While the proportion of students who want to study at postgraduate level outside the UK is stable over the years (around 7 per cent of those who intend to study PG), the same proportion of EU-domiciled students increased from 20 to 23.5 per cent between 2015-16 and 2016-17, inverting the downward trend observed during the last years.

Among UK-domiciled 2016-17 graduates who want to go abroad, the share of those who added an optional comment when asked about reasons behind their decision almost doubled compared with last year, but remains relatively small. The most common words in these answers were ‘Brexit’, ‘politics’ or ‘EU’.
