Annual TRAC 2019-20: Sector summary and analysis by TRAC peer group
This paper contains analysis of the 2019-20 sector aggregate data based on submissions from higher education institutions in England and Northern Ireland. Also provided is a summary of UK sector data.
Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) data for 2019-20 was collected by the Office for Students on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland) and these bodies are co‑owners of the data.

Both the publication above, ‘Annual TRAC 2019-20’, and the Excel workbook ‘Annual TRAC data 2019-20: analysis by TRAC peer group’ form part of the official statistics release.
We have also published – as an ad hoc experimental official statistic – a summary of some additional contextual information collected within the TRAC return for 2019-20. This is to aid the interpretation of the TRAC data for 2019-20 and to estimate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operations of higher education providers in the period from March to July 2020.
